Though this design is generally encouraged to possess a 5-degree pitch at a minimum to allow a water run, a level pergola can be a versatile design. You can have a timber ceiling and feature inbuilt lighting and fans, or even have distinct degrees or pitches. Both this and gable pergolas can be attached on one or multiple sides to your property. Dome Pergolas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considered as one of the more pergola designs to choose from, a dome pergola is considered as one of the more modern styles to choose from. This design features a curved roof design which allows a high airflow and cooler space for wherever it is placed. A dome pergola design also empowers hot air rise to create a cooler space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these different designs, there are different materials that you can have applied to the structure. As for the roofing though, there are two main options you can go for. These options are acrylic and polycarbonate roofing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acrylic: <\/strong>A  sturdy and lightweight material that can also be tinted to alter the color of the light it lets through. While it can protect against different elements and falling materials, acrylic roofing can be exposed to breaking if it is put under an excessive amount of pressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polycarbonate: <\/strong>In comparison to acrylic, this roofing is made with sturdier materials and is easier to install. Its main downside is that even though it can block UV rays, it can also yellow with time and sunlight exposure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
